Specialist Finance, Technology Ventures EUR

JOB PURPOSE:

Maintain an overview of financial and strategic performance metrics of portfolio companies in line with venture capital best practices and reporting standards, Support the Senior Manager Ventures in market analysis, sector studies & trend analysis and landscaping of suitable investment opportunities, Support Ventures Management understanding of Venture Capital market dynamics and trends, relevant to SABIC capital deployment decisions

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for enterprise valuation of potential investment opportunities in a consistent manner and in compliance with Technology Ventures and Corporate Finance guidelines
• Responsible for assisting Senior Manager Ventures & Senior Specialists, Investment with due diligence of target companies on any collaboration with SABIC corporate finance functions
• Responsible for assisting Technology Managers and Senior Specialists, Investment to formulate business cases for identified opportunities, including doing market research
• Active engagement with portfolio companies to ensure P&L supervision, financial reporting to stakeholders and cash management
• Responsible for making recommendations for follow-on transactions with portfolio companies
• Assist Director Ventures, Senior Manager Ventures , and Senior Specialists, Investment with the planning and execution of due diligence activities on follow-on transactions with portfolio companies
• Responsible for ensuring appropriate actions required for portfolio company activities with SABIC corporate finance functions ovide support and input for all financial systems for technology ventures, including portfolio monitoring and reporting
• Provide advisory support to Director Ventures and Senior Manager Ventures in key areas like Ventures governance, key corporate initiatives and reporting
• Represent SABIC in the external innovation and venturing world such as Corporate Venture Networks and industry events, as and when needed
• Contribute to the wanted culture change at SABIC by acting as a role model and giving visibility to innovation

• Ability to balance supportive/steering activities at Site and European level including go to for Advice by local manager(s)
• Ability to work and influence in multi-cultural, diverse Global Community whilst aligning with local and global policy and legal directives
• Ability to promote local and global corporate values
• Strong Entrepreneurial and Business Acumen working cross business and function(s)

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Professional Degree in business (Minimum Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree or Equivalent in Chemistry and/or related field/preferably MBA) and/or finance
• Commercial affinity: Proven success in commercial/business role
• Venture capital experience gained either in-house at a VC or corporate VC, or advising VC funds
• Good understanding of finance, modelling and P&L/cash flow management
• Good understanding of venture capital portfolio management
• Min. 5years’ experience in financial or business/commercial roles
• Experience in a venture capital organization – corporate or independent
• Fluency in English (both written and verbal) additional European language(s) a bonus
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Location: STC-Geleen, The Netherlands

Travel: 25% - 50% (regionally and globally)
