Manager, Engineering Alliance

DEPARTMENT

As Manager, Engineering Alliance, you support the development of mega projects and project portfolios executed by E&PM (Engineering & Project Management). You will be part of the Core Team and reporting directly to the Director E&PM Europe. On a regional level the objective is to obtain optimal Engineering and Project Management Services, allowing E&PM to deliver first quartile projects in EHSS, Quality, Cost & Schedule to the Strategic Business Units and Manufacturing organization in the region.

You will interact with Site Management (Manufacturing / T&I / SBU), E&PM E&PM Site Managers and Project Portfolio Managers amongst other project stakeholders involved in the projects.

JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure proper performance of Engineering Alliances based on agreed measured, parameters and contractual KPI´s.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures & standards.
• Ensure “on time” submittals of all deliverables, maintaining required levels of quality and accuracy.
• Ensure that established goals and objectives are measured and achieved, liaising with the E&PM Site leaders and eventual PMs/GMs leading Major/mega projects in the region.
• Responsible for mentoring, guiding and measuring performance of any subordinates.
• Support the standardization of Engineering across the region identifying within the Engineering Alliance Subject Matters Experts in and outside of the region
• Enhance quality of engineering deliverables utilizing Engineering Alliance service with optimum cost & schedule.
• Identify external best practices related to Alliances concepts, apply best practices in engineering service & project management into Sabic processes.
• Develop and implement workflows & procedures for the section to support effective execution of SABIC strategies.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Good knowledge of SABIC engineering specifications and/or applicable industry standards & codes through the Europe region.
• Good knowledge of local safety and environmental regulations and other government requirements.
• Well-acquainted with the needs of an industrial and projects environment Deep knowledge of project management, sourcing and contracting
• Strong stakeholder management, people management and interpersonal skills
• Deep knowledge of project management, sourcing and contracting
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Knowledgeable with policies, procedures and best practices in the areas of E&PM & Procurement
• Well-acquainted with the needs of an industrial and projects environment
• Ability to work under pressure in a multi-national/cultural environment

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree or Equivalent (ideally Postgrad or equivalent) in Engineering, Process or Mechanical background is preferred and/or related Degree of study

• Excellent Conceptual, Communication and Analytical Skills
• In depth knowledge of strategic processes, performance management, project management and related IT systems
• In depth knowledge of interconnecting Business Units and Functions across Industry
• Excellent presentation and network skills
• Proficiency in IT/various connecting IT systems such as Office, SAP, reporting, etc
• Experience with working in multi cultural and diverse environment and influencing and engaging at senior management level

• University degree in Engineering, Process or Mechanical background is preferred.
• Project Management Professional Certification by PMI is preferred
• Fluency in English language (conversation and writing)

• At least 10 years of experience in petrochemical or industrial environment
• At least 7 years of project management experience
• Good knowledge and experience of the project development and project execution processes

Location: Geleen, Netherlands

Travel: 25 – 40% (regionally and globally)
