In the department Technology & Innovation of SABIC Europe in Geleen, The Netherlands, we are continuously looking for enthusiastic trainees with affinity for the challenging interplay of groundbreaking chemistry and its possible application in current or future processes of SABIC.The “Europe Technology PP” Group consists of scientists with expertise in catalysis, material science and process technology and initiates new developments in the area of high added value products.
The internship project is aimed at developing novel polypropylene-based materials. The project involves an interesting combination of (1) polymer synthesis using different size laboratory scale reactors (0.2 L, 2 L and 20 L), (2) molecular characterization of the polymers and (3) continuous interaction with various scientists in charge of the materials’ performance in intended applications. As a trainee, you will get familiar with various aspects of the polymer production process and material science. The assignment as trainee/intern is typically for a period of 6-9 months, starting as soon as possible.
We are looking for a highly motivated student with either a synthetic chemical or a material science background. The perspective trainee will have the opportunity to work in a diverse multidisciplinary environment. Preferably, applicants should have experience with laboratory research work and familiar with safety requirements.
