The Polymer Application Development and Industry Solutions organization is part of the Polymers T&I organization. It includes the Global Application Technology department. Within this department, the Polymer Processing team is included, located at the SABIC Technology Center in Geleen. Polymer Processing has a unique offering of competences and capabilities to support the material development teams, segments and to support our customers.

Within this Polymer Processing team, we are looking for a Polymer Processing (senior) Technician.

The position is located in STC-Geleen and will be reporting to the Manager Polymer Processing.

JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will champion selected polymer processing capabilities related to extrusion, involving operations and testing activities to support the needs of our stakeholders. The main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Independently operate polymer processing equipment like pipe and foam extruders and execute application performance testing
• Analysis, interpretation and reporting of measurements results to support research programs
• Actively participate in technical meetings with the research project teams
• Pro-actively identify possibilities for improvements of the operations
• Discuss work orders upfront as well as the achieved results with project leaders
• Active contribution to safety and housekeeping programs

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

To keep on realizing Polymer Processing operations and Application testing activities to fulfill the needs of our stakeholders, we are looking for a highly skilled technician who is requested to deal with state of the art processing lines and testing equipment, mostly in a non-standard setting, inherent to the nature of our technology developments. The candidate is an enthusiastic team player who can excel in a research environment with a highly varied range of projects and activities, having:

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree/HBO or VAPRO C level or similar Technical study in the field of Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Polymers, preferably expanded knowledge of plastics
• Relevant experience in application testing and/or polymer processing operations
• Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in related Technical Area
• Initiative, high energy and "can-do" attitude
• Self-starter, flexible, hands-on mentality
• Demonstrates effective time and priority management across multiple, diverse sets of tasks and delivering quality results
• Excellent communication skills, both in written and verbal form, English and Dutch language
• Team player with ability to work across multiple functional groups and at various levels
• Excellent Microsoft Office computer skills
• Excellent Communication and Analytical Skills

• Excellent presentation and network skills
• Proficiency in IT/various connecting IT systems such as Office, SAP, etc
• Ability to work within multi cultural and diverse environment
