Construction Supervisor – T&I Operations & Maintenance

DEPARTMENT

SABIC’s innovation journey is a key enabler for achieving the company’s vision to become the world leader in the chemical industry. Within the T&I organization, the T&I Operational Excellence department has the purpose to drive and maximize the value creation of the following important functionalities and initiatives: EHSS Performance, Asset Operations and Maintenance Management, Portfolio Excellence, Governance & Innovation Support, Planning & Cost Management and Footprint.

Within the Operational Excellence department, the goal of the Asset Management department is to drive an increasing health and safety performance to protect people and assets on the T&I locations. Next to this, the Operations & Maintenance team, as part of the Asset Management Department is responsible for further enhanced effectiveness and efficiency of the entire T&I organization, by being responsible for safe operations of the T&I facilities, maintenance and modifications of the T&I installations and related processes.

Within Europe, the Europe Assets Management T&I department has a focus on the research centers in Geleen, Wilton, Bergen op Zoom and Cartagena.

The T&I location in Geleen has a large variety of installations. From bench scale installations in laboratories, extruders and other processing equipment in processing halls to small and big pilot plants.

JOB PURPOSE:

Within the Operational Excellence department, the goal of the Asset Management department is to drive an increasing health and safety performance to protect people and assets on the T&I locations. Next to this, the Operations & Maintenance team, as part of the Asset Management Department is responsible for further enhanced effectiveness and efficiency of the entire T&I organization, by being responsible for safe operations of the T&I facilities, maintenance and modifications of the T&I installations and related processes.

Main Responsibilities:

• Guiding contractors at the T&I Geleen location.
• First contact person for contractors.
• Guiding contractors in the Brightlands/ SABIC entrance process.
• Ensuring strict adherence to SABIC’s EHSS guidelines to avoid any incidents.
• Ensuring strict adherence to SABIC’s guidelines, specifications and standards to deliver quality, cost, and schedule guideline.
• Follow-up and coordinate projects and maintenance activities in the field during the execution phase and discuss issue(s) with relevant Engineer(s)/Project Leader(s)
• Involved in creating and issuing of work permit(s) using relevant system(s)
• Responsible for creating week schedule with maintenance and project activities.
• Sub Element Administrator of SHEM05 (Third Party EHSS Management) and SHEM08 (Safe Work Practices).
• Team member in CAPEX projects (involvement in safety plans and guiding execution phase).

Additional Responsibilities:

• Ability to influence SABIC Europe and Global Partner(s)
• Ability to balance supportive/steering activities at Site and European level including go to for Advice by local manager(s)
• Ability to work and influence in multi-cultural, diverse Global Community whilst aligning with local and global policy and legal directives
• Ability to promote local and global corporate values

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical/Instrumentation, Min MBO 4 level
• Excellent Conceptual, Communication and Analytical Skills
• Fluency (both written and Oral) in English and Dutch
• Excellent presentation and network skills
• Proficiency in IT/various connecting IT systems such as Office, SAP, reporting, etc
• Experience with working in multi cultural and diverse environment
• Minimum 2 – 5 years’ relevant work experience
• Experience in Construction Supervision is a bonus
• Dynamic, Enthusiastic and Self Starter Personality
• Work experience in a Manufacturing Environment such as Operations, Maintenance or Engineering
• Independent and flexible approach to working
• Safety Awareness (specifically adhering to local EU Directives)
• Demonstrated Time and Priority Management Ability across Multiple, Diverse sets of Tasks including Delivery of Quality results
• Customer Service Focus Attitude
• Team Player

Location: STC Geleen, The Netherlands

Travel: up to 25%
