As a Supplier Sustainability Specialist, you will join a dedicated Supplier Sustainability team ready to take over challenges and to contribute to our Responsible Sourcing Strategy and Corporate Sustainability strategy. Reporting to the Manager, Supplier Sustainability within the Global Responsible Sourcing department, you will support the implementation of the E2E Supplier Sustainability strategy to ensure transparency and alignment on the Lonza global sustainability goals, in collaboration with the Procurement team, internal and external stakeholders.

Your Role:

  • Responsible and accountable for the roll-out, implementation and monitoring of the existing and new vendor due diligence and risk management process to identify, address and resolve potential ESG risks with Lonza’s suppliers - in Europe, Americas and/or globally ad hoc
  • Responsible for all operational activities within Supplier Sustainability, such as data analysis, tracking of targets, Power BI reporting, data maintenance for IT integration projects and supplier assessment platforms (workflow, reporting, communication, support, etc.)
  • Manage and support existing and upcoming sustainability projects (e.g., IT integrations, supplier diversity program, supplier water & waste management program)
  • Responsible and accountable for the onboarding of suppliers to Sustainability Assessments and Audits (PSCI, TfS) in Americas and EMEA
  • Coordinate the engagement and capability building of suppliers to support Lonza’s sustainability priorities and goals
  • Manage multiple dedicated supplier assessment platforms e.g. EcoVadis, Integrity Next, audits platforms, Dun & Bradstreet (workflow, reporting, communication, support, etc.)
  • Monitor and research emerging trends, global sustainability dynamics and the regulatory environment in your region and/or globally
  • Develop and execute communication and training for Procurement professionals and Suppliers
  • Oversee completion of ESG reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate and collaborate in industry initiatives such as PSCI, TfS

Requirements

  • University degree in engineering, /supply chain management /sustainability/ CSR or a business degree/ Master’s strongly preferred
  • Passion to drive Sustainability topics, both operationally and strategically
  • 2+ years of experience in Sustainability/CSR programs within procurement or global sustainability function
  • Experience in pharma industry is a plus
  • Proven working experience with SAP, EcoVadis, Integrity Next, Power BI
  • Excellent command of MS-Office applications, especially Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent written and oral skills in English, German is a plus
  • Hands-on contributor who likes to take up a challenge and deliver tangible results
  • Enthusiastic self-starter, with influencing skills to communicate, drive change and persuade internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Understanding of different Procurement disciplines and how they integrate with each other
  • Exposure to sustainability/CSR topics such as human rights, labor standards, environment, conflict minerals, etc.
  • Experience in working in a dynamic environment with ability to prioritize and focus, as well as to coordinate activities globally
  • Experience in working with data and forming insights and actions
