Indirect Procurement plays a vital role in ensuring that the right products are sourced at the right price and OTIF (On Time In Full) with the right suppliers so as to ensure a smooth and continuous supply chain. The Indirect Strategic Buyer will ensure this continuity of supply by actively challenging current and new suppliers to keep on giving Lonza the cutting-edge advantage. The role is based in Bornem (Belgium) and will contribute to 3 sites: Bornem (BE), Verviers (BE) and Geleen (NL).

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate effectively with the Central Procurement team to deliver value to site stakeholders
• Partner with key stakeholders across sites to ensure business continuity and Procurement meet site business needs
• Manage supplier relationships and performance at site level
• Provide purchasing expertise in tendering, negotiation, contracting and purchasing systems
• Manage delegated spend (CHF 20-30 million annual spend)

Key requirements:

• University Degree (BSc/MSc) in Business/ Economics/SCM/Procurement or similar
• CIPS Level 3 or higher would be an advantage
• Significant experience within category management/Procurement preferably in pharma/life sciences industry or similar
• IT literate in the use of MS Office package, SAP is a plus
• Fluent Dutch and French are required, as well as very good English
• Customer service mindset and ability to manage several priorities simultaneously
