The Senior Strategic Buyer Indirect role will manage and support Indirect materials spend management and ensure coordination of the day-to-day purchasing activities across Lonza’s sites (Bornem, Verviers and Geleen). Ensure business continuity and supply/availability of indirect materials and services for production by monitoring and improving supplier performance and by managing supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities:

• Support Central Category manager with category strategy development (e.g. provide site current and future business needs)
• Support implementation and execution of indirect category strategies at site level
• Lead the execution of sourcing initiatives for delegated indirect spend across Belgium and Netherlands sites (incl. Bornem, Verviers & Geleen)
• Provide purchasing expertise in tendering, tactical negotiation, planning, CAPEX and contracting
• Support global & regional sourcing efforts to drive savings
• Support the roll-out of new procurement policies, processes and tools
• Ensure business continuity and supply/availability of indirect materials for production
• Partner with site stakeholders to understand and support the delivery of current and future business needs
• Manage Indirect Procurement activities and buyers at the relevant sites.

Key requirements:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree (Business, Economics, Engineering, Procurement or Supply Chain)
• Dutch and English language essential
• Proven experience with Indirect spend and Operational procurement
• Regulated industry background experience (Pharmaceutical, Food, Motor or Aerospace industry)
• Purchasing expertise in tendering, tactical negotiation, planning and contracting
• SAP experience desirable
