Oorspronkelijke vacature omschrijving:

Our story begins in 1952, when we commissioned our first factory for the production of Caprolactam in The Netherlands. Nowadays we have production facilities in The Netherlands (Geleen) and China (Fuzhou en Nanjing). As of October 2018 Fibrant is part of Highsun Group China. Together we are the world’s largest producer of Caprolactam, with a yearly capacity of over 1 million tons. As a result we became a major player in the global polyamide market. In line with our core values our 300+ employees in the Netherlands cooperate with suppliers and customers worldwide to create pure chemistry. People, technology and sustainability are our key drivers when producing high-quality products and long-lasting partnerships. It is crucial for Fibrant to improve and further develop our technology to deliver high-end products to our customers. Our global Research & Technology group (25 people) steers the development of caprolactam technology and supports our production sites in the Netherlands and China. We are looking for an analytical chemist to be part of the R&T group and lead their analytical activities.

Your craftmanship

Do you enjoy analytical challenges, which can be both fundamental and practical? Do you feel at ease in a lab environment? Then you might be the Analytical Chemist we want to embrace in our team. As an Analytical Chemist you will be leading the analytical activities in the R&T group, which is a global oriented team of 25 people developing the caprolactam technology and supporting the production sites in the Netherlands and China. You will be working across different project teams within the R&T department to give critical input for research questions and create analytical solutions for arising problems. As a member in project teams you are passionate to solve challenging research questions by analysis (e.g. new by-products, new products or new specifications). Because of your experience in chromatography and mass spectrometry you are able to develop methods and select adequate equipment. You are able to select the right techniques, shape and develop analysis methods for specific applications, mostly related to the identification of byproducts in Caprolactam. Moreover, you enjoy the hands-on-work: running analyses and troubleshooting in case of equipment issues. You are enthusiastic to train colleagues on how to work with the Chromatography equipment, are willing to help others doing analyses and proactively share your knowledge within the R&T department.

Your background and experience

  • You have a MSc degree in Science;
  • You have at least 4 years of work experience or a PhD in Analytical Chemistry;
  • You have proven experience with instrumental equipment including Liquid or Gas Chromatography;
  • You have good English language skills, both verbally and in writing;
  • You are responsible, proactive and have strong problem solving skills.
  • Experience with chromatography is a prerequisite for this position and knowledge of mass spectrometry is a strong asset.
