Vacature: Product Engineer

We are looking for a highly motivated, committed and development oriented Production Engineer for our plants in Geleen. Our Production Engineer’s main responsibility is to focus on the continuous improvement of the production unit taking into account aspects such as HSE and quality. You will optimize plant performance in close co-operation with the production team (day and shifts), technical development, maintenance, quality control, product owners as well as production planning.

Your main tasks in this role? You:

  • support/coach our production department and its team members for all technical aspects to deliver/improve plant results (in several aspects, quality, HSE, …)
  • will be responsible for the effective, efficient organization and overall prioritization of daily activities & start ups, by constantly evaluating and monitoring
  • are point of contact during implementation phase of new projects and represent the plants during customer visits and in- and external audits
  • act as Borealis' representative in the Chemelot emergency response organization
  • are part of a 3- weeks rotation on call duty to guarantee qualitative and safe production

About you

You hold a Master or Bachelor degree in chemical engineering/process technology or relevant experience in the area of production, technical development or maintenance. You can look back on at least 5 years of experience in a similar production environment, preferably in our businesses. In order to succeed in this position you should have a good knowledge of relevant IT tools and the capability to learn quickly. You are also a fluent communicator both in Dutch and English. On top of that you are constantly looking for improvement opportunities. We wish you to be a safety, quality and achievement oriented person who has excellent cooperation and networking skills. With your strong technical background and commitment, you have the credit to challenge in order to optimise plant performance. You are recognised for being a communicating, inspiring and motivating person who has a strong impact and influence on ongoing matters and people.
