Vacature: Category Manager Earthmoving

Join our team as a Category Manager and take on the exciting role of strategically managing the assigned category ‘Earthmoving’. Your scope being Pan-European and responsible for the scoping and procurement of up to € 100 Million per year. Earthmoving products are related to excavation, moving and compaction of soil.

As a Category Manager, you will be recognized as a subject matter expert in this category.

In this role you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of the category, develop and implement innovative strategies, increase revenues and realize cost savings for our organization.

Your expertise in supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization will be vital as you work closely with all internal stakeholders (e.g. Product Managers, Fleet Managers) in the (product)group to align on the range, investment size, reinvestment needs, and specifications of the fleet to be purchased. You'll find the perfect balance between economies of scope with aligned specifications and the local needs and preferences of our various operations.

To ensure the best buying decisions, you will leverage your knowledge of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles. By considering the full lifecycle costs, you will drive informed decisions that align with our organization's goals and objectives.

Your main tasks:

  • Procuring and delivering new fleet on time based on TCO calculations;
  • Aligning data-driven decisions with all stakeholders for purchasing fleet;
  • Developing procurement strategies aimed on filling in customer needs, increasing revenue, reducing costs, and driving efficiencies;
  • Providing comprehensive procurement support, including contract management, tendering, strategic projects, evaluation, training and advice (and other support as required);
  • Ensuring adherence to procurement policies and value for money;
  • Managing supplier relationships from sourcing to payment;
  • Successfully introducing new products through collaboration with involved stakeholders and training.

What do you bring to the table?

  • You have a bachelor degree (preferably in the field of business economics, Industrial Engineering or similar);
  • You have a least 4 years’ experience in a similar role within a technical and international environment, managing a technical product range in within your category;
  • You have excellent English skills (other languages are a plus);
  • Experience with SAP is considered a plus.
